Immersive Audio Residency      2025

In September 2025, I participated in the immersive Ambisonics residency jointly hosted by Dirty Deal Audio and Laidi Palace in Latvia. The residency brought together international artists working with spatial sound composition. Over the course of two weeks, our group explored ways of connecting human voice, technology, and cosmic soundscapes through multi-channel diffusion systems.

My practice during the residency focused on the intersection of language and spatial audio — using Ambisonic techniques to construct sound environments where mixed languages become sonic materials rather than semantic tools. The collaborative process involved live improvisation, multi-speaker experimentation, and collective listening sessions within the historic hall of Laidi Palace.

The residency concluded with a live group performance featuring the projects developed during the residency. Our collaborative piece, NoiseGate #155, integrated live microphones, field recordings, and electroacoustic textures within an Ambisonic environment. The work was later presented at the Üle Heli Festival in Tallinn.

Beyond the technical exploration, the residency became a reflection on communication itself — how sound transcends linguistic boundaries and how collective creation reshapes the idea of authorship. The experience deepened my interest in spatial storytelling and the performative nature of sound as a shared language.
